BEAT THAT SUCKAS!

I am happy, no wait ELATED to see that cowls are in for fall. I was perusing WWD.com, and as I was going through the fashions for fall (which might I add mens' and womens' fashions are going together like his and hers towel sets) and noticed something around both male and female models necks-cowls.

I continued to click as my heart rate increaced and noticed them on quite a few designers, Burburry, Prada, and even Chanel has a very fluttery cowl-like Elizabethan neck cover.....fall is going to be GREAT!

Now let's not get it twisted-the cowls are not like mine. You can't wear them five different ways like mine, nor are they hand crafted like mine...but the big designers are paying attention...

Unlike them, we have known this little secret of awesomeness for the past year now....San Franciscan ladies who know me and what I make are already in the know....now its time for everyone else.

Talk to you soon with updates for Spring-and the annual fashion show next month!

Peace out!

Networking networking...just plain working!

Hey LDD ladies! No I have not forgotten about you! Spring break broke so I'm back to work.

Good news is Spring/Summer 09 really is on its way-really. New colors and choices new to LDD are coming too, so stay tuned for that new development!

In other news I'll be doing a little networking at a local fashion show this week and heard very good news from a friend of mine about getting cowls into the hands and necks of many new customers at a pretty huge organization here in SF!

And in just plain fun news the annual Ebony Fashion show is coming to the Bay area this weekend! It's always a great time watching the black beauties strut their stuff in the fashion industries best!

Plus you get good swag. Free subscription to Ebony or Jet Magazine, AND free fashion fair makeup!

Until next time....

Irony is the spice of life

Figures....I've been knitting non stop sense about early December knowing full well I have tendinitis in my wright wrist (and I'm left handed-irony #1), I decided to 'relax' and do some Pilates workouts via Netflix last night and do the sadistic move of a 'Pilates push up' a basic gym style push up which moves into a cat stretch, then back again-and I wake up in the middle of the night with pain in my wrist.

Figures.

The only upside is that I don't have anything pressing to knit right now-my yarn is not here yet. Although I am working on a wrap which I'm kind of excited about-and bangles-which are knit so the 'banging' part-not so much.

My fashionable cousin in Canada is going to have to wait a few more days for her cowl....

Stupid Pilates....

Photo shoot on the way!

Good news girlie girls! LDD is going to have is FIRST professional photo shoot and the website is getting a good sprucing up too. I have too many people asking me "When can I look at your site?" I really need to give them more of an answer than "Ummm...."

So in the next few weeks pictures will be  taken, website will be spruced up and lots LOTS LoTs of items will be coming out for spring/summer.

In other news....
Have you gotten your 5 way Cowl yet? ;) Everybody has one...
My most popular selling item is a little bananas right now-especially here in San Francisco-it's been pouring down rain so much all anyone wants to do is curl up in a blanket. This is as close to a walking blanket as you will get-barring that Victor and Rolf bed dress from a few years ago....(still brilliant...not exactly office friendly)

I've been experimenting with adding a little shine to them, giving it a little sparkle aside from the basics (which are always good) but if you want a little more in your creative cowl, don't fret.
Some new colors include: Peanut Butter Cup (Peanut Butter color with chocolate and carmel drizzled right in), Black  licorice (black on subtle sheen black), and whipped cream (creamy off white mixed with a darker cream and champagne). These are just a few to choose from for now...

I will also cover a little business here girls:

The basic cowls are still 30.00-you can't beat that price with a stick.  These are the ones that are just one color and the 80/20% wool/acrylic yarn in just one color.

The new "candy coated" cowls (added yarn mixed with a matt and metallic yarn) are 40.00-still great. I know you may be thinking "why so much more? Trust me, a little bit goes a long way, it gives it whole new look which you will be getting complements on all the time. Let's remember you can wear this cowl 5 (maybe 6) different ways-you are getting your monies worth.

Any other 'special order'- if you want anything else made like a cowl, but you would prefer a 100% Peruvian wool, or alpaca or a silk blend. The base price is 30.00-but this does not include the cost of the yarn. On average they can range from 20.00 per skein (ball of yarn) and up.   If you want three different colors-you would pay for the three different yarns, ect.

Peace!
